Even though the new masking law has been in effect in Austria since October 1, 2017, you can still use the Phantom training mask anywhere without being disturbed. Even during your outdoor training or your daily training runs through the neighborhood, you don't have to expect any legal consequences.
The aim of the “Federal Law on the Prohibition of Covering the Face in Public (Anti-Facial Covering Act / AGesVG) is to promote integration by strengthening participation in human coexistence.
For this purpose, it punishes covering one's own facial features with clothing or other objects so that they are no longer recognizable in public places and buildings as an administrative offense with fines of up to A$209.90.
However, there is no violation if the covering is either e.g. B. in the context of artistic, traditional events, etc., sports, as well as for professional or health reasons.
Wearing or training with the Phantom training mask falls under this exception as a sporting activity and is exempt from the ban.
So nothing stands in the way between your evening run through the neighborhood or a high-intensity outdoor training with the Phantom training mask.
