Introduction To Niko Serbezis
Born in Oldenburg (born May 7, 1992) and raised in Bremen Lesum, Niko Serbezis wanted to become a professional athlete from an early age. Initially boxing, Niko eventually moved on to kickboxing and grappling.
He was never interested in big cars, watches or other luxuries, and he wasn't particularly interested in parties either. Niko always pursued his sporting goals and kept himself afloat with odd jobs such as delivering pizza - which eventually earned him his nickname "Spider".
This is how he managed to finance the training and continue to work on his skills. There was no parental support because his parents did not approve of pursuing a career as a professional fighter.
Motivated by the big names in the MMA scene in Germany at the time, such as Lom Ali Eskiev, Daniel Weichel and others, Niko did his thing. And when it came to equipment, right from the start he relied on the brand that would ultimately end up as a team athlete: Phantom Athletics .
What sets Niko apart is his iron discipline. He was always someone who never had to be told that he had to train.
He won many grappling titles over the years and was very active at the start of his MMA career. He was able to complete 8 professional fights in a single year. All fights were on the most prestigious stages at the time such as GMC, Respect FC and others.
Years of sport ultimately left their mark on Niko. Many injuries and even a herniated disc in his neck set him back.
With the help of a physiotherapist, Niko was able to fight his way back. Four years later he came back stronger to make his comeback at Oktagon MMA, which he won brilliantly.
You can see for yourself: Life is a fight and martial arts not only means fighting “man against man”, but also constantly facing your own hurdles.
Strengthen
Weaknesses
Through my teacher, who gave me boxing as a punishment so that I could learn to use my strength correctly.
To make my comeback after a very bad injury break. Doctors told me I would never be able to fight again. 3 years later I won my debut in Oktagon MMA and proved to everyone that it wasn't over yet.
In fact, all of my battles have been hard. I've never had anything like construction opponents. For me the glass was always full to the neck.
My sporting goal is to prove myself to the world. To compete with the best in the world. And to show everyone who has dreams that you can do it if you believe in it yourself.
Tip #1: Believe in yourself because you have to show them.
Tip #2: Never allow yourself to be limited and surround yourself with people who want to push you forward and love you for who you are.
Tip #3: As Bruce Lee always said: "Be water my friend." Adapt to everything. And always be open to everything.
